Hire of South Grove Premises: Points to be observed by all users.

Fire safety:
Fire-fighting equipment can be found in the kitchen, main hall, foyer, and bar lounge. Fire exits are clearly marked and must not be obstructed. Linear chair arrangements to have centre aisle, 4 chairs wide and side walk ways.

Premises capacity:
Main hall - 250.  Seating for - 200. Bar lounge - 50. Committee room - 30.

Cleaning equipment:
Brush and pan are situated near or in the foyer. For mop and bucket please ask bar staff.

Lighting:
Lights must be switched off in all rooms not in use.

Floor care:
NO PARTY POPPERS OR NON METALIC CONFETTI
is permitted due to floor staining.

Heating:
Central heating goes off at 9pm. Radiator controls are not to be tampered with.

Windows:
Hirer’s are responsible for making sure all windows in the centre are closed before they leave the premises.

Security:
16th, 18th and 21st Birthday parties must be policed by hirer’s stewards who must be officially SIA registered. The law states you must have 2 door people for the first 100 people and 1 for every 75 people thereafter. You must make sure you hire the steward/s for the duration of your booking, right up to midnight.

Decoration:
All decoration you put up must be removed and disposed of or binned at the end of the evening. BLUE TACK to be used on windows and doors at all times - NO SELLOTAPE.

Food:
All food must be removed and disposed of or taken with you at the end of the function. Note: If you are self catering please let us know if you require use of the dishwasher as there is a usage charge of £5.00, if used without prior arrangement it will be taken from your £100 cash deposit. Kitchen light switched off and must be left clean as found.  NO FOOD TO BE TAKEN INTO THE BAR LOUNGE AT ANY TIME.

Disco:
No disco equipment will be allowed to be left on the premises overnight.  Smoke machines are permitted as long as the DJ only uses it responsibly (short burst only).

Lounge bar area:

This room is not permitted to be used by any persons hiring/using the centre if the bar is not open. NO FOOD TO BE TAKEN INTO THE BAR LOUNGE AT ANY TIME.

Guests:
It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that all guests have left the building no later than 30 minutes after the music finishes. MUSIC MUST END AT 11.30PM. Failure to do this will result in being charged the going rate for each hour entered into beyond 12 midnight.

I.D.
Anyone between the ages of 18 to 25 must have photo ID with them or they will not get served at the bar. Anyone lucky enough to still look within this age range must have photo ID on them.

Children’s parties:
The bar area is off limits for children’s parties. The centre must be left in the clean condition it is found on arrival. It is the hirer’s responsibility to lock all the doors after the last person has left the centre, placing the keys in the secure letter box. Bouncy castles are allowed as long as they do not exceed our ceiling height. We ask if hiring our committee rooms you have the food on the lino end of the room, not the carpeted area.

Deposit:
This covers damage to the centre inside and out and extreme messes inside and out the centre.
If our cleaners need to stay over their normal hours to clean any extreme mess, their overtime will be paid out of the £100 cash deposit. It also covers any other points noted in the terms and conditions.

Bar:
The hire of the hall on Friday and Saturday bookings must have a bar. The bar staff wages must be covered in the evenings takings. Either the full amount or the difference will be taken from the £100 cash deposit.

Alcohol:
Champagne or Wine for toasting is permitted to be brought in only with the prior agreement of the bar. This carries a corkage fee of £5.00 per bottle.
No alcohol is to be taken from the premises or brought onto the premises.
Alternatively please ask for a wine list May 2011.

Behaviour:
The centre reserves the right to fine the hirer £50 if themselves or any of their guests are being verbally or physically abusive, or acting in an intimidating manor towards any of the centre’s staff. This will be taken from the £100 cash deposit.

On booking hirers will be asked to sign a form to state that they have read and agree to adhere to these terms and conditions.
